The OVA was awesome!! But I don’t get the catchphrase: The Bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame. What’s that all about? I know it’s from an old alchemy poem or something like that, but that’s about it. Can someone explain it to me?
@punkglr326, The Bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame. comes from the Ripley Scroll; a 15th century alchemical treatise of some importance. It was written by the famous alchemist, George Ripley, one of the world’s most renown alchemist.
It supposedly deals with reanimating the dead through a personal sacrifice (I think) on behalf of the alchemist performing the ritual.
More on the subject can be found at this alchemist website http://www.levity.com/alchemy/rscroll.html
Alchemy rocks…
Oh okay, thanks for clearin’ that up for me ^^
