I was a member of IRT and belive me, the wrath of god would have come down on you if you had tried. Besides we had other means besides the uniform to tell us apart from “sneaky con-goers” such as yourself. A good many people were booted from the con for trying to impersonate security and you are lucky you werent one of them. Every con has it’s issues and with 20,000+ people, I am not suprised there were.

I only found out that people needed tickets to the masquerade because i overheard people talking about it in line. I was in the masquerade and i felt really bad that no one knew about the ticket thing. I know i would have been very angry if i had waited in line that whole time without a ticket and without knowing i needed one. To those who couldn’t get in, the skits are online if you wish to seek them out!

For the first time in 10 years, ACEN enforced that ticket rule and i was thrown off completely. And instead, couldn’t attend the masquerade festivities. I was accustomed to waiting in line on a first come first serve basis. Even the line for the Soap Bubble was long! Friday was nothing but waiting in lines, 3 hours for pre-registration which we didn’t receive in the mail. Another 3 hours because the hotel didn’t have any available rooms till 3pm.

Yeah, the Masquerade was terrible. A group of my friends were in a core of people that managed to convince the Con staff to re-open the doors, but since I lost them in the massive crowd that had latched onto the Con Registration desk right by the main event I …. Well, would up wandering back over to the Dealer’s room and not finding out about the re-done admission until I was once more idling near the Applegeeks booth.

There were quite a few instances of communications breakdown on Saturday…. The line to get in side to wait in line to get in line for reg at ~8AM and then not finding out until halfway through the doors that Oh, yeah, the Dealers’ didn’t open until 9.

:: Grumbles.::

I swear, I should have used the fact that my costuming made me look a lot like an IRT member to get into places I shouldn’t have been.

ZOMG! The masquerade was totally evil this year! My boyfriend and I were in it and NONE of our friends got to see the awesomeness that was our costumes…it makes the poor ghosty girl cry…

Yeah, I kinda assumed that they were gonna announce winners. What they did was they let the judges go back to deliberate while they brought the finalists for “Acen Idol” onto the stage for their final performance. Then they gave the winner for that, and then gave out the trophies for the Masquerade.

This was my first con, dunno if I’ll be getting to any others unless they’re local. $$$, you know…
