Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007

Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007
The Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007 will be held next week on Thursday, March 22nd through Sunday, March 25th, 2007.

About the fair

The Tokyo International Anime Fair (known as TAF) is the world’s largest anime exhibition. Held every spring at Tokyo Big Sight, the exhibition features a trade fair with booth exhibits by anime-related companies, events including spectacular stage performances and theater movie showings/displays, and the Tokyo Anime Awards in which outstanding anime works are presented with awards.

Every year the exhibition attracts the attention of people throughout the world for its extensive program. Through the kind support of a diversity of people including business users, families, and anime fans, TAF 2006 (held in March 2006) featured exhibits by 256 companies (73 from overseas) and welcomed a record 98, 984 visitors over the four days of the event.

Hours

Hours are 10:00am to 6:00pm Thursday-Saturday and 10:00am to 5:30pm Sunday. Entrance doors close 30 minutes prior to closing time, so be sure to arrive early! Also, cosplaying is not allowed (GASP)!

Days

There first two days (Thursday and Friday) are called Business Days. These days are limited to business people (under 18 not allowed). I guess that’s when a lot of the licensing deals are made and the ‘top secret’ projects make their debut!

The weekend is open to everyone, which they call Public Days. Anyone may attend these two days, so that’s when all the cool stuff is revealed to the public and we finally find out about it!

Location

Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007 is located at TOKYO BIG SIGHT (East Exhibition Halls No. 1, 2 and 3). I looked it up via Google Japan – you can find it here: 3-21-1 Ariake, Koto-ku, Tokyo, Japan 135-0063.

Organizers

Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007 is organized by the Tokyo International Anime Fair Executive Committee.

I love anime. Specifically, series involving any of the following things: weird fantasy elements, super-powers, robots, aliens, wicked humor, crazy villains, horror, ninjas and samurai. I guess that means I like a lot of anime.

@Danny Choo, holy crap!!! That’s how ALL anime cons should be. While I truly appreciate all the pics, now I have con envy T_T. Will AX be as cool I wonder?

I hear that cosplaying wasn’t allowed; bummer dude. I’ll definitely be checking back to see more of your pics from the con. Thanks again for the link Danny!

OMG, OMG, OMG, fangirl moment! I’m so super physched about the Devil May Cry anime!! I just found out Madhouse will be releasing it some time this year in Japan and seeing a poster for it @ the fair is just too much! Did you get to see the trailer Danny Choo? Does the animation look quality? God, they better not f* it up, or so help me…

****We now resume our regularly programmed Rachel****

So, mmm, yep, that fair sure is a tasty buffet of teasers. Can’t wait to see if some of those anime taste as good as they look.
