I love anime. Specifically, series involving any of the following things: weird fantasy elements, super-powers, robots, aliens, wicked humor, crazy villains, horror, ninjas and samurai. I guess that means I like a lot of anime. I am pretty particular about the quality of animation and voice acting. If the character designs and animation quality aren't of über-quality, I quickly loose interest. The first anime-related series I ever watched was Battle of the Planets - otherwise known as Gatachman. The first true theatrical anime feature film I saw was Akira. My first exposure to manga was later in life when I read Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy.There are so many incredible elements of Japanese culture. Some of the most exciting to me are the style of design and storytelling. I'm a web designer & illustrator, and I find myself looking to Japanese design for inspiration all the time.Anime blogging has taught me even more about Japanese culture and anime than I ever expected, and I continue to learn more every week. In fact, I'd love to travel to Japan. Rachel and I hope to visit sometime within the next few years.

Nerima Daikon Brothers needs to win Best Cast, like, seven times over.

Here’s a link the Nerima Daikon Brothers’ wiki if anyone is as curious about it as I am…

I think that is great that they will have Awards for Anime! Now would Manga also fall into the Awards?

Well actually I just noticed it’s the last one. I think they should have one for various styles, instead of just one. C’est la vie.

I think this whole thing is very poorly arranged.

There are like 20 nominees in every category and it is unclear what timeframe the series/movie needs to have been released.

Also since the winners are determined by the fans, it will be meaningless anyway. Show with highest ratings wins.

    It’s stupid.

Just finished voting. All in all it’s kinda mixed up. Best voice actress and actor should have had the chacters name over actor and series. I personally don’t read credits :p

Letting the Fans decided is kinda off I’m betting Naruto and Inuyasha will when more votes just cause more ppl have seen it.

Then best song is kinda also messed up cause there’s ppl like me who watch fansubs and hate the NA songs if changed.

And Princess Tutu long series? I’ve only seen 25 eps – guess that’s long by some definitions.
