Are you an anime fan who’s involved with the anime fandom? Do you have valuable knowledge of the medium that must be preserved for the ages? Can you take a few minutes out of your life to record instances of our fan history?
If you answered yes to any of these question, the new wiki project, Fan History, wants you to lend a hand in recording our fandom!
Fan History is a new wiki project dedicated to preserving fan history from various fandoms, including manga and anime. For those unfamiliar with Wikipedia, it’s “… a free, multilingual, open content encyclopedia project operated by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation.” (from the Wiki entry for Wikipedia) Anyone can add to, or edit , Wikipedia entries.
Before you make a wiki entry, it’s best to read up on it first; you don’t want to make a mistake millions of people will be able to call you on! Next, visit the anime fan history page, click “please edit this article” and add a subcategory you feel needs to be represented. If you don’t want to add a subcategory, click on one already available then edit it by adding content.
Please keep in mind that objectiveness is key in making a wikipedia entry; stick to the facts and list references to back them up. It’s a bad, and biased, idea to state “4 Chan is the home of idiots and pervs.” Remember, your IP address is listed whenever you edit a wiki article so follow the rules or you may be blocked from further editing.
Have fun and help record our awesome fandom!
