May 2009 Contests and Sales

May has quite a few exciting anime/manga contests and sales. RightStuf is giving away tickets to Anime Expo 2009 and continues their ‘Year of the Otaku Contest’; Viz Media has a Naruto Shippuen contest; and Mania gives you a chance to win a Sakura Matuou Figure! There are four contests this time around.

Win Anime Expo 2009 Tickets from RighStuf

First, RightStuf has 5 one-day passes to Anime Expo 2009. 5 lucky winners will receive a pass to the Expo which takes place on July 2-5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Note: The winners will receive one day’s admission to the convention, however, they are responsible for their own travel and accommodations.

RULES: The contest is open to residents of the US and Canada 13 years and older. To enter, just fill out the entry form by June 4, 2009. See Official Rules for details.

Year of the Otaku Contest from RightStuf

The second contest from RightStuf is actually a continuing contest with winners selected weekly. The contest is called Year of the Otaku “What Kinds of Otaku are You?”. Past winners have received the first three volumes of the manga Toto! by Yuko Osada, a Bleach gift pack containing a Bleach mini-figurine and trading cards, a Blue Dragon gamer pack, featuring the Blue Dragon for the Nintendo DS, plus a Blue Dragon T-shirt, the first DVD of Midori Days, etc. The current prize is a Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game tin featuring Elemental Hero Grand Neos. There will be two winners.

Naruto Shippuen Contest from Viz Media

Another weekly contest is being conducted by Viz Media. They have partnered with Bandai Collectible Games for this contest where the player has to answer a trivia question about Naruto Shippuen. The current contest will have 20 winners and the prize is the “Fateful Reunion” Starter Pack collectible card game. The winners will be drawn from the list of entries which had the correct answer to the trivia question.

RULES: The contest is open to residents of the US and Canada (excluding Quebec) 16 years and older. To enter, just answer the trivia question and fill out the entry form. The current contest ends on May 20, 2009 but another contest begins the following day. See Official Rules for details.

Win A Sakura Matuou Figure from Mania

The last contest is from Mania and is the most recent in their series of figure giveaways. They have partnered with AAAanime to offer a figure of Sakura Matuou from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. The figure features Sakura Matou in a swimsuit with towel. It is 1/7 scale.
