New Design for The Anime Blog!

Today we’re debuting a new design for The Anime Blog! We have an official new logo and an entirely new look! We hope you like it!

You’ll notice the Japanese characters in the logo below ‘The Anime Blog’ text. This actually says ‘The Anime Blog’ in Japanese – ザ　アニメブログ (za-a-ni-me-bu-ro-gu)! Our most excellent friend Chikashi provided the translation. Thank you very much, Chikashi!!!

For the color style used in the new design, I wanted to use a different palette than usual. While our original design was interesting, I always felt like it had too much ’stuff’. So even though you’ll notice several ideas that we’ve used again, hopefully I’ve been able to present them in a new and fresh way. Some of the elements we’ve kept in the design include random appearances by anime cats, buildings apparently made of Pocky and other assorted Japanese snacks and the Japanese Rising Sun.

Hopefully, it’s easier to comment now too! We’ve tweaked the way comments load so that you don’t have to reload the page. And you can subscribe to articles now too! With the simple click of a button before you submit your comment, you’ll get an e-mail (hopefully) that tells you when somebody has replied.
