If you have a favorite voice actor, then you may be interested in this. The Seiyuu Awards was established two years ago to honor the Japanese voice actors. The organizers have recognized that there has been growing interest from overseas as more and more of the Japanese seiyuu have been invited to events outside of Japan.
Because of this, they have opened a new category for foreign voice actors called the Oversea’s Fan Choice Award. The following is an excerpt of the English page of the Seiyuu Awards’ website.
3rd Seiyuu Awards
Purpose: This category will give fans from overseas the opportunity to choose who they think is the most memorable voice actor. Voting for this category shall take place online at the official website, and the award will be presented as a special category award.
Voting Process: Votes from overseas fans only shall be counted. Voting will take place at the official website. Fans will vote for one voice actor (regardless of gender). The results of the vote shall determine the first assessment. A second assessment shall be held by the Seiyu Awards Selection Committee.
Eligibility: Anyone who is not Japanese
Voting Method: Enter voice actors and actress name and the name of the characters that voice actors and actress has played.
The English page also has the online voting form. The deadline is January 1, 2009. The award will be announced and presented at the Awards Ceremony on March 7, 2009 at the Tokyo Anime Center’s UDX Theater.
