I was exposed to anime as a child while living in Germany after watching the Japanese version of Hans Christian Anderson’s the Little Mermaid. In high school, a classmate in art brought in Akira as an example of Japanese art. I wasn’t very impressed with anime at the time, but my re-exposure to it in 2000 thanks to Escaflowne had me hooked for life. After sorting out what I liked about anime (great stories, beautiful animation and epic battles) and disliked about anime (big boobs, angst-y 15 year-old kids, most mecha, sports stories and style-over-substance), I got into it with a vengeance.I do love almost all aspects of Japanese culture and try to be involved with it as much as possible. I have no problem admitting that I incorporate a lot of Japanese trends and traditions into my life as I modify them and make them my own. Anime is a big part of that, along with all the sub-cultures, past and present.

I kind of agree that the series was too short, just because Cassa’s betrayal of Alice and Jiro was never really explained throughout the series. I didn’t understand the fillers (I guess that what you’d call them) at the beginning of each episode, even though they did explain how Jiro became infected with Alice’s blood. Overall, I liked the series, non-stop action in every episode.

This series was really interesting but the last episode was quite confusing. With Jiro being asked to protect Mimiko (which i would like to know what is her importance to this anime??) and the fact that Mimiko loves Jiro. Though I am also confused to know if episode 12 was truly the end of Black blood Brothers since it seemed to have many hints in the episode that cassa would return and bring the king back to life lead me to think that a second series was going to be made..? Though if anyone reading my comment can please reply and inform me if there is or is not going to be a second series so i can stop wondering.
Many thanx to who ever replies
