I do love almost all aspects of Japanese culture and try to be involved with it as much as possible. I have no problem admitting that I incorporate a lot of Japanese trends and traditions into my life as I modify them and make them my own. Anime is a big part of that, along with all the sub-cultures, past and present.

-on second thought, the whole “Vincent continuing his journey to kill other proxies” doesnt quite fit. the Proxies were made to die in the sunlight. he wouldnt need to kill them if they were just going to die out on their own. more than likely, as i have been informed, Vincent is, more or less, Proxy One’s agent of revenge against the ‘creators’, i.e. the original humans who set all of this up. and presumably the ships at the end were an indication that creators had come home at last. (i couldnt really tell, the ships looked a lot like the ship Re-l was flying when she left the Dome the first time, with the cockpit in the front looking like it was vertical like how Re-l was piloting hers standing up pretty much, so i assumed they could have been from another dome….hey, it is still possible.)

anyway, the only wrench in that outlook is to the reason why Vincent would want to fight against the original humans, as far as what was stated, they are not coming back to do anything bad. just to live on Earth again. then again he doesnt technically have to fight anyone. his being alive is enough to go against the creator’s original plan of their being no Proxies when they got back. Proxy One does say that Vincent’s existence would be his symbol of defiance against he creators. but if he didnt have to fight then that would NOT explain his whole “i am Ergo Proxy, the agent of Death” saying at the end..with a smile. he didnt look like he said it in a nice way either. whatever. that just gives me more of an excuse to watch it again.

The ending was just screaming out:”There’s going to be a sequel” but that sequel never came out. I want that sequel NOW!

I LOVED Ergo Proxy, but the only question I have is why Ergo Killed Monad? If I knew that I’d understand it all.

According to the mental work that other people have done – the Pulse of the Awakening in the final steps of the Proxy Project was supposed to make all the proxies wipe each other out on sight. Or something like that. It was hinted at at Smile Land when the proxy there wanted Pino to prevent Vincent from coming, because he said they’d kill each other. So Ergo without his memory and Monad were probably just reacting to the Awakening. (As written on Re-L mirror.)

But wow, I sure didn’t understand the rest of the story. You’d have to explain it to me…

I think the anime was very good but i do agree there were spots where i hit fastforward. I get annoyed by the filler epiosdes but the end some what made up for it.

Oh ya what was falling at the end? Those weird M shaped things i didnt catch that. Were they aliens xD.

Those weird M shaped things at the end were the humans returning to Earth since the environment had recovered.

Remember, the humans in the domes were pseudo-humans created by the Proxies. The real humans had left long ago during the Rapture.

the beings in the cave were part of another proxy project that failed. Those beings could conceive and have children. This is proof the environment there could sustain life, despite how bizarre it was.
