i read what you wrote about the English voice acting, and i thought that you were right. but, when i listened to it, the flat tones gave the whole thing a more surreal feel, like it wasn’t normal and more of a dream, which was one of the major parts of the plot for Kikyo(which got kind of annoying and confusing to me).

@Susan Rider, I don’t think they’ll make a sequel to this, or even a prequel, unfortunately. The way the series ended was pretty…final. But the Gilgamesh were a bit of a mystery, like a few other things you mention. However, I feel they ended the series fairly decently even with the unanswered questions left.

At first I didn’t like it very much because it was slow paced, colorless and I thought the drawing was bad. I also thought the music was a little weird. However, despite it’s shortcomings, I found the story compelling and I watched it to the end. I’d have to say I ended up liking it quite a lot.

I only thought the ending was terrible because I came to really like and care about the characters, so seeing them all brutally murdered in a matter of minutes at the end was a let down. I didn’t care about the originals because we didn’t really follow them through the series, it was their clones that we came to know and understand. Also. I didn’t like the countess that much, and yet she made out just fine at the end. She didn’t seem that concerned about all of her “children/family” being killed. Yes, I know she tried to shoot herself, but in the end, she got over it real fast. I also didn’t understand why she got to live since she was human. She was apparently many years older and had no dynamis herself. Was Enkido really still in love with her?

I also have questions about the Gilgamesh. What’s their story? It would be great if they did some kind of sequel. I thought the series was really different, but in a good way. I’d love to see more!

@boomer, I liked this anime a lot too. It really did have a teen drama vibe, but it was cool since it was a sci-fi/ fantasy anime.

This was an awsome anime! It has very easily become one of my favorites!! The music went together with the anime itself in a very.. exciting way. It is a teen drama type, but I think that adds to this anime’s greatness. Personally, the dubbing was not a big problem. All in all, I loved Gilgamesh with its rich history and greek background in a sence. Gilgamesh always kept me wanting to see more.
