@Susie Q, read the manga! It’s much more dramatic than the anime. I finished the anime and felt that while it was a really good interpretation of the manga and fantastic by itself, the manga was more emotional and dramatic. On the flipside, it was also more drawn out. Both the anime and manga are good choices, but if you really dug the anime, flesh out the world some more with the manga and vice versa.

Plus the endings have very different feels to them. Both are good, but read/ see both to decide which you prefer!

Wow it’s only $8? I’ve been seeing a lot of $10.95 prices…next time I’ll look for death note- loved the anime but haven’t read the manga!

@Lynxx, definitely read the manga! There’s not a huge difference, but it feels creepier than the anime due to the fact reading seems more suspenseful. That and you can see Light go kuh-ray-zee for longer than he does in the anime.

@Megan, haven’t finished the anime but the manga is great. I suggest reading it for the subtleties.

The anime is amazing. I should read the manga, too. Just from this, they sound a lot alike… I didn’t want to stop watching the show until I finished.
