The Karas Pocket Watch Giveaway is over! The winner is: comment 44, kitty!!! Thanks to everybody who entered and keep reading for more contests and giveaways!!

In honor of Karas: The Revelation’s release today, The Anime Blog is giving away a Limited Edition Karas Pocket Watch! This pocket watch face features the same logo used in the movie and comes in a swanky black box. Hold on to it to help you keep track of time or give it to the die-hard Karas fan in your life!

  • All entrants MUST live in the continental U.S. (sorry, shipping is ‘xpensive)
  • All entrants MUST be a registered user to win. (Register Here)
  • Post a comment in the comment board below stating that you’re entering for this giveaway.
  • One post and only one entry per registered user. Flooding the board with multiple posts will result in deletion of all said user’s posts.

Deadline:

  • Deadline is numerical: 60 unique comments (minimum). The winner will be randomly drawn when 60 comments have been posted.

Winner:

  • The winner’s screen name will be posted on the site and the winner will also be notified by e-mail!

I was exposed to anime as a child while living in Germany after watching the Japanese version of Hans Christian Anderson’s the Little Mermaid. In high school, a classmate in art brought in Akira as an example of Japanese art. I wasn’t very impressed with anime at the time, but my re-exposure to it in 2000 thanks to Escaflowne had me hooked for life.After sorting out what I liked about anime (great stories, beautiful animation and epic battles) and disliked about anime (big boobs, angst-y 15 year-old kids, most mecha, sports stories and style-over-substance), I got into it with a vengeance.I do love almost all aspects of Japanese culture and try to be involved with it as much as possible. I have no problem admitting that I incorporate a lot of Japanese trends and traditions into my life as I modify them and make them my own. Anime is a big part of that, along with all the sub-cultures, past and present.
