The Friday Poll is back! Ok, so first, we thought that maybe the Live Action Akira Movie was never gonna happen moving forward. Well, apparently Joseph Gordon Levitt (Live Action Cobra Commander), who was rumored to be Tetsuo isn’t involved (yet). From JoBlo:
“That’s really just a rumor,” Levitt told MTV at the Toronto Film Festival, adding, “that just goes to show what you can believe about what people write about movies.” Levitt says that the “loves” the original movie but as far as he knows there isn’t even a script for the film yet.

I love anime. Specifically, series involving any of the following things: weird fantasy elements, super-powers, robots, aliens, wicked humor, crazy villains, horror, ninjas and samurai. I guess that means I like a lot of anime.

Hmmm. Who should play Tetsuo? I’d imagine that would probably have to be some unknown, but for right now I would say Nao Omori, who played Ichi in Ichi the Killer. He’s a little old, but he can do that hurt-yet-dangerous thing like no one else.

Chris – Nao Omori would be an interesting choice…the great thing is, he’s actually Japanese. Why does Hollywood always change everyone’s ethnicity?
Hana – Yeah, I think it’s awesome too – mostly because I think regardless of who they cast, Live Action Akira is a bad idea, lol!
