In America when people see a beautiful, fem guy, they’re like, “Man, he’s soooo gay” but in Japan I imagine that the girls fairly swoon when they see a bishi looking dude walking down the street.

Said friend who had the insight about the yaoi also discussed with me how the hair fashions in Japan are becoming more androgynous. So is it life imitating art or vice versa?

Crayotic Rockwell – As to wanting to know if your lady would be OK with your porn collection because she has her own dirty, secret stash of yaoi: In my opinion, porn is porn and if she has her stack of “it makes me want to touch myself” manga you should totally be able to have yours .

I guess if I squinted a little, I could make believe that some of those guys in manga are girls (I mean they are super fem to begin with) but I might have to be drunk to see them as chicks after they got nekkid.

Imho – there’s far too much yaoi and not enough yuri being published for me!

What interests me is the way in which the girls on LJ gush about it, some of the reviews I’ve read recently have been quite freaky to say the least! *@_@*

And if so, can I use yaoi as a litmus test as to whether or not a girl is okay with my own collection of pron? That’d be ace if I could.

Anyhow, I haven’t had a whole heap of exposure to yaoi myself, but the standard bishounen type characters tick me off no end (except you Ouran) so I can’t imagine it’d be my thing. Plus I don’t enjoy penix.

Although I will say this: I’m a lot closer to being gay for dudes in anime than I am real life. Especially the cross dressers. Transvestites in anime don’t seem to suffer from the big hands and adams apple problem that you may see on the strip at 11pm.
