There are a lot of anime meetups popping up in a lotta cities all over the world, Ronin. Would an anime club you went to have to be an RSO? The St. Louis Anime Meetup is a decent size (not too small, not too big). Perhaps checking out meetup.com would steer you towards a local club that’s to your liking.

Whoa! You can really watch anime and play an involved RPG at the same time Keisuke?

I can’t find too may people either with the same tastes as mine, but there are times when my tastes and another person’s tastes coincide enough so that we end up liking and watching the same anime together. I think I’ve found all of 3 people who like at least 60% of what I like. I haven’t found anyone as of yet who likes exactly what I like 100% with no exceptions.

You know, I’m not a huge fan of people either tj han. When I say people though, I mean the seething hive mind that society becomes when they congregate in groups over 30. Normally, I like getting together with people as long as there’s no more than 25. After that, I find that having good coversation and concentration on said conversation flies out the window.

If everyone’s of the same mindset and on the same page when it comes to watching and discussing anime, then, woo-hoo! Let the good times roll, but sadly that’s rarely the case and I tend to keep my gatherings to around 4 or 5 people I know really well. That way if they get off topic I feel comfortable enough to say “Shut yer hole, I’m missing the best part!”

I agree with ferdinandsalis about sharing your thoughts about anime with another person; it’s more interesting that way. I almost always get a bit more out of a series when I hear someone else’s take on it. I think that interaction with fellow fans makes you think along lines you normally wouldn’t and sometimes you gain new insight. If that’s not your thing, well then, it’s a moot point.

I normally watch anime alone while playing FFXI or doing other stuff. Dual screen = double the fun. Couldn’t find anyone with similar taste in anime as mine.

I hate people. I watch everything alone. Quoting MAJ Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell, “When there’s a movie I want to watch, I watch it alone.” (But when it’s not),”I don’t watch it.”

What? I have enjoyed watching all the anime series you picked out Rachel, except Saiyuki. I fell asleep EVERY TIME we watched that snorefest .

Unless there’ll be an officially recognized anime club at my Uni, I would prefer to watch alone. Noisy people would distract me from understanding what the characters in the series were trying to convey, with sub or without sub, unless they’re talking something relevant to what anime is showing.

I am still watching on my own because I just started to watch recently, so I am kinda new to all the stuff. Haven’t found any anime clubs in vienna yet. But I am trying to convert my girlfriend. I guess I will start showing her Honey & Clover. I hope she likes it, because sharing your thoughts about what you saw makes it a lot more better.
