Ever wonder what’d it be like to step into your favorite anime and be one the characters you’ve grown to love over the years? Many fans choose to cosplay as their fave characters and even go as far as to adopt their persona when they’re in costume. Being “said character” at a con, however, just isn’t like being the real thing – equipped with all the powers and personality that help give those characters that je ne se quoi we love ‘em for.

I was exposed to anime as a child while living in Germany after watching the Japanese version of Hans Christian Anderson’s the Little Mermaid. In high school, a classmate in art brought in Akira as an example of Japanese art. I wasn’t very impressed with anime at the time, but my re-exposure to it in 2000 thanks to Escaflowne had me hooked for life.After sorting out what I liked about anime (great stories, beautiful animation and epic battles) and disliked about anime (big boobs, angst-y 15 year-old kids, most mecha, sports stories and style-over-substance), I got into it with a vengeance.I do love almost all aspects of Japanese culture and try to be involved with it as much as possible. I have no problem admitting that I incorporate a lot of Japanese trends and traditions into my life as I modify them and make them my own. Anime is a big part of that, along with all the sub-cultures, past and present.
Hmm, interesting poll here =p I’m having a hard time screwing my head though, my favourite anime character is Kamio Misuzu from AIR but to be in her shoes….. Hmm, I can’t imagine drinking peach juice the whole day LOL I think it’d be interesting to be Kino from Kino no Tabi. Travelling, watching the different ways people of different countries live, it feels pretty melancholic and nice for some reason XD If I was able to be her for 1 day, I’d, well, travel LOL And make use of her kickass guns =p

Actually, it’s a tie between Kamina (DED), Lupin III (Quiet, he’s epic), Gainer from Overman King Gainer (lulz) and maybe Archer from Fate/Stay Night.
Could look into females too… … … Must resist saying Rein-tan :V
