when you say disconnected themes, I think mushishi which is a series I would defintely watch again, love me some Ginko! I would watch Inuyasha again, because I miss Naraku and the rest of the baddies.

If your are talking about an anime series, I would say seirei no moribito is the best for this, as it is always nice to watch. I think they focused mostly on arts and animations, and the soundtrack has been worked on pretty well. For an anime movie, I would say princess mononoke, which also has among the best arts and animations I've seen in an anime (most Gibli films have great animations I find).

I’d have to say that one of the best to re-watch is Outlaw Star.

Trigun, Wolf’s Rain, Gundam Wing, and Yu Yu Hakusho are also really good repeat watches.

Gotta agree that Cowboy Bebop, despite being amazing, doesn’t seem to fit this list

@Crisu, it does seem that random anime has that special something that lends itself to being re-watchable.

@Ryuuzaki, I don’t think we’ll ever see Seirei no Moribito stateside unless another distributor picks it up from Geneon….

@Chiku, Yeah, Cromartie High is just one of those shows I can never get tired of.

@McE, I still haven’t finished FLCL, I can’t seem to get into it.

@Asuka, CCS does have a comforting, life-affirming vibe, doesn’t it? I’m glad it was there for you to draw on!

@Smeagol, I loved Wolf’s Rain, but it’s too depressing to keep re-watching.

I’d say Cardcaptor Sakura. I think shows that are the most rewatchable tend to be the ones that bring back the most nostalgia. CCS was a part of my childhood/adolescence and comforted me when I was going through a lot of difficulties. To this day, I still savour its pureness, which helped me through the hard times.

Another vote for FLCL, the music alone is a good reason to have it playing in the background while I’m cleaning

I decided to think of this question as “which series have you watched the most times?” Which leaves me with Trigun, Samurai Champloo, the first Tenchi Muyo series, Ranma 1/2 and Elfen Lied. Ninja Nonsense might be on the list, but I tend to just watch a random episode or to instead of watching it in sequence. Black Lagoon will most likely make this list in the next year or so – I’ve already been though it three times. As will Death Note, eventually.

I think the tighter, shorter series are more re-watchable in general. Which is why Bleach and Naruto didn’t make the list. I love them, but its hard to watch 100 episodes in a weekend
