Ok, so who totally flipped out over last week’s release of the “final” installment of Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows? Who waited in line and who got frisky when they finally had Harry Potter’s last soirée with Voldy in their hands? I ordered mine through Amazon so I didn’t wait in line but I did indeed get frisky when I cracked the spine on this bad boy.

I finished DH in 8.45 hours and, wow, just wow. I simply cannot wait to see this book on the big screen! Merlin’s Beard, I’m so stoked! I also saw Order of the Phoenix this past Saturday and once again, wow.
But, you know, a lot of stuff got left out of the last movie. And that’s understandable since lordee knows, the books are frick’n epic. Fortunately, I have a solution for this dilemma; Harry Potter manga!
It’s a great idea and, there’s precedent for it in the way of Star Wars manga, Wizard of Oz manga, and even a sequel manga to Labyrinth. These are all well-loved American films that have a sizable fan base and cult-followings; just like Harry Potter.
If HP gets made into a manga, fans’ll get more fleshed out visuals than the movies (though the movies are brilliant) and we’ll get to see our fave HP characters manga-ized.
On my favorite artist community, deviantART, there’s a ton of manga style fan-art of the Harry Potter crew. Especially of the bad boys of the series; Lucius, Draco, and everyone’s fave troubled-soul poster-child, Snape.
There’s even disturbing/ hilarious HP yaoi of DracoxHarry and SnapexLucius. HP chibis also abound on DA. In my opinion, HP has already taken its first step down the manga path.
Chibi Severus Snape: A possible candidate for the Harry Potter Manga?
So after deciding that HP manga is indeed a good idea, I began to ponder who should actually draw the manga. One possibility that came to mind was CLAMP. It’s a good idea, and yet, a bad idea. Good in the sense that CLAMP has a fan-following and people will read it because they’re fans of CLAMP and like their style. However, CLAMP also has a reputation for it’s shoujo style and that might turn off potential readers. That would be the bad part.
I think that an artistic style that’s neither shoujo nor shonen is the way to go for a Harry Potter manga. A style that’s too soft might only attract women and turn off male readers. A style that’s too shonen wouldn’t even fit into the HP’s style. A happy balance of the two would be a great comprise.
Also, I think a HP manga will kill two birds with one stone in terms of satiating the fan-girl’s demand for more Harry/ Draco/ Snape/ Lucius/ whoever and have them done in their fave bishie style (I fear for Lucius however; how much more femme can that guy get and still be a dude? Let’s face it, bishie-fy him and he’s a chick).
All around I think a Harry Potter manga is a smashing idea. Who else thinks so? Are you a fan of merging HP and manga? Who else wants Harry Potter manga?!

It’s an interesting idea, and, while there is already Harry Potter doujinshi out there, it would be nice to have a regular, official series.
If a manga was to be created, though, I think it’s far more likely to be drawn by an American(or possibly British) artist than an Asian one. Probably a somewhat lesser-known but competent artist who’s willing to take on such a lengthy project.
It’s unlikely that this would happen anytime soon, though, if at all. With the economy as it is, and anime and manga sales dropping steeply, it’s unlikely WB is going to take on projects they aren’t certain they’ll make profit from.
hello! i’m hungarian and i very like the harry potter. my favourite episode is the hp and thehalf blood prince ’cause my favourite caracter is severus snape (for hungarian translation perselus piton) and fortunatelly my favourite actor is alan rickman.

I would love to see the Harry Potter series in Manga form! Anime form, if possible! A Harry Potter Anime would be so great.
Snape is seriously one of my two most favorite characters. Moody ties with him for first. Sirius and Lupin tie for third. Voldemort and Dumbledore tie for fifth. Hermione (who I think should look like Taiga from Toradora) is seventh. I want to see these people in Manga and Anime form!
But yeah, I don’t think it’s going to happen in the near future though. I mean, the books have thousands of pages worth of storyline that are just waiting to be drawn, so I doubt that anybody will just waltz up and take on the project. But I hope someone does!
I’m also going to try drawing some charcoal sketches for my favorite characters and upload them on my deviantart account.
Oh yeah, might I suggest Fujiwara Hiro to draw the manga? He (the pseudonym is male) is the author and artist of Kaichou wa Maid-sama, a shoujo manga that I really like. His drawing style isn’t that feminine for a shoujo manga (actually looks a bit shounenesque) and he’s pretty good at portraying situations.
Problem is that he probably isn’t familiar with the Harry Potter series. And I think he works alone, which means that even if he does decide to draw, it would take years to even get the first of the seven books out.
But I already know that I want Sunrise, Goro Taniguchi, Ichiro Okouchi, and Clamp, the makers of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion to make the anime. With the way that anime series ran, I just know that those people are perfectly suited to portray the plot twists and turns in the Harry Potter series. It will be EPIC!!!

I would love to see a harry potter anime out there someday, and if they do, they wont leave out so much of the awesomeness like they did in the movies.
Maybe they’ll work up a Harry Potter manga and anime after all the movies are done?

I think it’s an awesome idea, but I think a TV series would be better, then you have to wait till the next day when the show comes, which will bring more exitment in it,,

I would find it awesome if there was an anime/manga of HP. There are a few anime clips that fans have made and I just can’t get enough of it! It’d be awesome if there was an official series, and a whole lot better than the movies (most of them are alright, but the sixth one was a huge letdown for me.) But as far as art style goes, I may recommend Narae Lee from the Yen+ magazine. I think she’s actually fairly new, a Korean artist, but she’s making a manga of James Patterson’s ‘Maximum Ride’ series, and it doesn’t look shonen or shoujo, but something in between. It’s pretty good! Nobuhiro Watsuki (the creator of Rurouni Kenshin) could probably do a fairly good job of that, too.
Anyway, I hope someone makes an official manga soon. I’d definitely read it. ^^
that snape is kinda fail, cuz the most remarkable thing on his appearence is his nose, and the only thing the chibi snape doesnt have is that nose
Well, i definitely want to have A Harry Potter manga. And it should be exactly like the book. Nothing less, not like the movies, where so many important things were left out. And the charas should be more like the originals (although i admit i love Alan Rickman as Snape, but he`s just too handsome…*sigh* ) But really, who would do it, i doubt any Mangaka or Fan would draw all the books. Besides JKR is really picky and sues anyone who dares to use the Potter name without her consent….still it would be nice, i surely would read it.
