Nihongo Daily — Lesson 32: Nuance Words — Yappari and Sasuga

1 min read

Lesson 32 teaches the reaction words anime uses constantly: yappari (as I thought, as expected) and sasuga (as expected from someone great), plus their family — yahari, sasuga ni, naruhodo, and tashika ni. You'll practice phrases like yappari yamemasu (on second thought, I'll pass), sasuga senpai desu (that's our senpai for you), and yappari sugoi desu (as expected, that's amazing), and learn the simple split: yappari for predictions, sasuga for praise. By the end you can react like a native to results, reputations, and surprises in Japanese.
